Chief Warrant Officer Lance Cummings (Retired) served as a Navy SEAL for three decades, with deployments across the Pacific, South America, and the Middle East. Today, he continues to serve through education and advocacy, helping preserve the legacy of special operations warriors as the Docent Manager at the Navy SEAL Museum in San Diego.

When I asked Lance what advice he had for everyday civilians who want to build more resilience, he began with a simple correction:

“Well, I don't know what an everyday civilian is because every person is important, right. And it's how you think of yourself.”

To Lance, no one is “just” anything. Everyone has value. Everyone has something to contribute.
